Asst. Manager - Purchase.

Qualifications:

Mechanical Engineering (BE) Graduate from a reputed Institute. A    post - graduate qualification in Materials Management will be preferred although not essential.

 

Experience:

Minimum 5-7 years for Graduate Engineers in purchasing in a manufacturing organization preferably engaged in automotive component manufacturing, Automotive Tier 1.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identification, assessment and manage supplier base.
  • Estimate Component costing , ensure competitive pricing, with emphasis on cost reductions, quality and supplier delivery performance
  • Responsible to prepare supplier nomination documents and present to sourcing board for approval
  • Responsible for capex purchasing

 

Key Traits & Knowledge required

  • Select suppliers for existing / New products through effective use of proven procurement skills in an automotive environment .
  • Continually reduces year-over-year costs through aggressive negotiations, Value Analysis, Long Term Agreements as well as supply base and industry knowledge
  • Recommend supplier process utilization by interpreting blueprints, Estimate costing and evaluating customer needs
  • Explore available technology and implements best practices related to purchasing activities
  • Prepare Domestic / Global RFQ’s for multi-year full production quantities
  • Evaluate part designs with engineering, quality and suppliers to obtain optimum efficiencies
  • Monitor supplier capacities
  • Support supplier rating
  • Inform about market developments
  • Should have production process knowledge on Gear manufacturing ,Cold & Hot Forgings, Aluminium Die-Castings, Machining, Plastic injection Moulding , Sheet Metal , powder metal , Hot / Cold Rolled steel etc.
